Stakeholder Engagement Session - March 24, 2010

The leadership at the WindsorEssex Economic Development Corporation has determined the time is right to revisit the strategic plan to determine if the focus needs to be recalibrated and if the targeted industry growth sectors are aligned with the economic realities in the national and international context. In addition, the WEEDC believes the strategic plan concept needs to be expanded to focus on a broader roadmap for the economic development for the Windsor-Essex Region. Government Procurement Seminar - February 23, 2010

Mexico: A World of Opportunities for the Automotive Sector Seminar

On Friday, June 19th, 2009 the WEDC partnered with the EDC and Government of Ontario to bring you a seminar on Mexico: A World of Opportunities for the Automotive Sector. We addressed surviving the auto crisis by doing business with Mexico. Mexican shops don't have the know-how, the tooling or the equipment to efficiently serve the automotive industry. Ontario is seen as a key partner. Learn about the many opportunities for the manufacturing/automotive sector in Mexico.

On May 12, 2009, Atomic Energy of Canada Limited brought supply chain experts to Windsor-Essex to explain how local manufacturers and service providers can become part of the CANDU project deployment via both life extensions of existing CANDU units for 30 or more years of service and new build reactors.

Understanding ITAR and Export Controls for Canadian Manufacturers

On April 1st, 2009 the WindsorEssex Economic Development Corporation's Manufacturing Sector Committee in partnership with the Canadian Consulate in Philadelphia hosted a one-day seminar to discuss important topics for Canadian manufacturers wishing to break into the lucrative US defense and military markets.
